Something About Us

From the village of Bolgheri, it takes just a five-minute drive to reach Sant’Uberto: a farmhouse built in 1897 that has lived through more tha n a century of stories.
Count Walfredo della Gherardesca used it as a hunting residence and dedicated it to the saint of the same name, the protector of hunters.

Everything truly began in 1953, when our family of farmers from the Marche region arrived. Mara was born here, and since 2002 she has been welcoming guests while keeping the traditions of the farm alive—first with the help of her husband Claudio, and now also with their children, Chiara and Valerio.

Agriturismo Sant’Uberto is more than a Tuscan farmhouse: it is a refuge where time slows down, a place where you rediscover a sense of well-being for the soul.

The first time you arrive, as you walk across the lawn toward the farmhouse, you immediately feel that you are entering a warm and familiar place.
You step through the door and see the original cross-vaulted ceilings. The furnishings are the classic Tuscan style: wood, stone, warm colors. Every corner preserves the memory of the nineteenth century.

Here you won’t find standard tourist itineraries. You experience Tuscany the way Tuscans do.

Chiara will point you to the village’s artisan shops and recommend the best wineries to suit your tastes. In the kitchen, Mara uses what Claudio and Valerio grow on the farm, and whatever they cannot produce themselves is supplied by neighboring farmers—everything local, everything seasonal.

You are in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by silence and the sounds of nature. And yet the sea is only ten minutes away.

Sant’Uberto is more than a stay: it is an authentic experience that brings together tradition, nature, and genuine flavors.
